I updated my desktop this morning with a new wallpaper and a new theme. I switched the wallpapers as it looked better with Venus on the right side. Desktop is Ubuntu Karmic with the KDE 4 desktop. Wallpaper is from experience the planets. I am using the widget style oxygen with the TeaSun color scheme. Widgets are using the oxygen theme as well.
On the left monitor is the file container of my source code folder (KDE doesn't put icons directly on the desktop, they are put in containers, and containers can point to any folder). Below that is a terminal widget as, for me, it is faster to type commands than to hunt around a gui. On the wight monitor is a unit converter widget, weather widget, and a Remember the Milk widget so Derek can remind me all the things I need to do.On the bottom of the right monitor is Gnome Do. A program similar to the Vista/7 Start menu or Quicksilver for Mac. It is more powerful than the Windows Start Menu from the wide verity of plugins that integrate with various programs and services.
In the second screenshot I have my chat program open. Windows are set to a weak transparency to let the texture of the background show through.
